Ways to Address more Serious Conflict

- Speak to the parties separately
- Ask each what caused the situation to get heated
- Actively listen to what your employees say
- Ask them what they think they did to contribute to the conflict (99% of the time each party contributed in some way)
- Ensure each party takes responsibility for their behavior and words
- Ask how they can modify their behavior in the future to avoid these situations
- Consider a written warning or verbal warning if needed and then talk to your HR department for further actions should the conflict continue
